  The Geographical Location:   

The Najran region lies in the south west part of Saudi Arabia, between longitudes 17 and 20 north and between latitudes 44 and 52 east. The area is about 365 thousand km2 with the addition of Al-Kharkheer, consisting of seven governorates and 54 administrative centers in addition to the region's Emirate headquarter. At the eastern borders of Najran Region there is the Empty Quarter desert. At the western borders there is Aseer Region. At the northern borders there is the Riyadh Region and at the south there is the Republic of Yemen.


The Climate:

The Najran area enjoys a moderate climate with moderate humidity winters, very cold in the mountain areas, moderate and mild summer, and moderate rain in winter but heavy in summer most of the time. Due to the difference in altitudes, temperature ranges between 6, 14 and up to 30 degrees Celsius.

Geography:

Najran Region has three geographical environments:

§ The mountain areas in the west, with dense forests, at a maximum altitude of 1800 m above sea level.

§ Valleys and plains, rich and good for cultivation, and hills in the middle part of the region.

§ The desert area in the east (the Empty Quarter desert)
